Story

Our stories are our strength, and our music is our soul. As the world moves faster into the digital age, we must ensure the foundational rhythms of Belizean identity are passed down to the next generation. The Belize Music Agency (BMA) is launching The Culture Tour 2026—a nationwide mission to bring the spirit of our ancestors directly into the classroom.

The Mission: Preserving Our Foundation

This initiative features two separate tours focused on the pillars of Belizean culture:

  • Creole Heritage: Led by Terry “The Brukdong Gyal” and Band, students will dive into the history and high-energy storytelling of Brukdong music.
  • Garifuna Heritage: Led by Nuru & Fyah Haat Band, featuring traditional Garifuna music, language, and deep storytelling traditions.

The tour will reach eight schools nationwide, providing interactive historical overviews and live performances that explain the words and stories embedded in our songs.

What Your Support Achieves

While we collaborate with the Ministry of Education, your contributions are vital to bringing professional-grade production to these students. Your funding directly supports:

  • World-Class Production: The BMA provides all professional sound and music equipment to ensure a stadium-quality experience in every school.
  • Educational Archives: We are video-documenting every stop of the tour to create a permanent digital reference for future generations.
  • Direct Inspiration: Students engage directly with professional artist mentors, fostering their own creativity and strengthening their cultural identity.

Your Contribution is Tax-Deductible

We are inviting you to invest in what matters most: our youth and our culture. Importantly, annual donations of $250.00 or greater from businesses and individuals in Belize are tax-deductible under the Income and Business Tax Act (Chapter 55, Subsection 17)
